Sometimes I'm serious, but often I'm not. I don't like mixing the serious with the ever-so-much-less-so. That's why I have this bloglet.
I love old movies, especially when they involved both Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. One of my favorite pairings of theirs is The Philadelphia Story. When drunk, Tracy Lord (Hepburn) says to Grant, John Howard, and Jimmy Stewart respectively, "hello, Dexter. Hello, George. Hello, Mike!" Mike is Macaulay Connor and, in other words, no Mike in particular.
Nonetheless, a special hello to any Mikes following along.
Mike is more or less my web 2.0 notebook. Commonplace book. It's about my continuing love affair with pop culture, aesthetic, and everything in between. I'm not sure what comes betwixt the both of them, but rest assured I will not lick the platter clean. I happen to be one of those whose lives revolve around iTunes and the like. Music makes the people come together, but can break your heart. No, wait, that's love.
I'm not the kind of person who creates well, but I enjoy the process of creation. I'm a relentless dilettante and often find myself bored. That's how I've managed to be involved in webdesign since 1997 without any semblance of a portfolio. My current preoccupation is photography; I finally feel that I'm getting to a point where I like what I'm doing.
Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a pop culture snob and value inside jokes more than humorous ones. I tend to drop lines from Space Ghost Coast-to-Coast into my everyday life and I hate hate hate when people call it "Teenage Wasteline" - that's a lyric, not a song title. As far as references on the blogolito, the tagline is from the Led Zeppelin song "Your Time Is Gonna Come" from Led Zeppelin aka Zepp I. It's one of my many theme songs, I like to think.
